CEOs for Cities
November 11, 2010
Business and city leaders from around the nation gathered in Detroit November 8-9 for the CEO for Cities’ “Urban Leaders Summit.” “CEOs for Cities” describes itself as “a civic lab of today's urban leaders catalyzing a movement to advance the next generation of great American cities.”
The Detroit event was the group’s fall meeting, titled, "The Good Life Transformed; When Times Call for Radical Change." Speakers from the private, public and philanthropic sectors discussed revitalization efforts happening in Detroit and cities across the country. Discussions and presentations centered on the importance of anchor institutions such as higher education and health care organizations. One effort that was emphasized was the initiative to bring together Wayne State University, Henry Ford Health Systems and Detroit Medical Center in Detroit’s mid-town area.
CEOs for Cities offered The MORE Program an opportunity to discuss our goals with civic and foundation leadership from across the country.
