U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Visits

January 27, 2011

Representatives from the United States Patent and Trademark Office visited The MORE Program offices in December. The meeting served to provide additional information regarding The MORE Program and to discuss potential partnership opportunities between the two organizations.

This visit followed on the heels of the announcement that the Patent and Trademark Office would be opening its first-ever first satellite office in Detroit in early spring 2011. The office will house more than 100 patent examiners and their support staff. The new satellite office will give patent applicants more time to meet for examiner interviews and, in turn, speed up the patent approval process.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office will monitor the results of the new Detroit satellite office with the possibility of opening additional satellite offices.
